Our first video has just come in!
Mariazinha, a mother and grandmother from Brazil’s Yanomami tribe, lets us know what she thinks of the Tribal Voice project.
Mariazinha and her people live in the rainforests and mountains straddling the border between Brazil and Venezuela. Thanks to a 20 year international campaign led by Survival and the Pro Yanomami Commission, the Yanomami’s land was demarcated. It’s the largest area of forest protected by indigenous people in the world, and it means the tribe looks after nearly 18 million hectares of the Amazon.
Tribal Voice has given the Yanomami communications technology so they can speak to the world in real time. But we need your help to spread their messages even further.
Please share widely, and help Mariazinha make her voice heard.
